The Big-screen TVs

Two big-screen TVs are provided at the Lodge for your convenience. The main screen is located in the Greatroom. An additional screen is located upstairs in the Bonus Room.

There is no cable TV or antenna TV hooked up to these TVs. They are set up for streaming media content only.

All streaming is provided by Roku. When you use the Roku remote control to turn on either TV for the first time, you will be prompted to enter Guest Mode. (Click here for more info about Guest Mode) There is a quick-reference guide to getting started on the table near each TV. All you have to do is tell the Roku your checkout date, and Roku will store your data only until you leave, and then will remove all your personal data.

You can log in with your own accounts to your chosen streaming service, made much easier if you already have your app installed on your smartphone. There are a variety of free viewing services already provided on Roku, but there are no premium services (like Netflix, AppleTV, Hulu, or similar) provided by the Lodge. Use your own apps on Roku just like you were sitting in your own living room.

In every case, use the provided Roku remote control. One is provided upstairs in the Bonus Room, and another is provided in the Greatroom. Roku remote controls look like this:

You can view your streaming media content at the Lodge by "casting" from your devices to the TVs. Follow these instructions:

  • Run Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube, etc. on your smartphone or tablet (connected to the Guest wireless) and cast it to the TV. Choose casting destinations of "Greatroom Roku Device" or "Bonusroom Roku Device".
  • Some streaming apps, after you cast to the Roku screen, will prompt you to choose your profile or log in to your account. Simply answer the questions on the Roku screen, and your casting media will display.

The Greatroom TV is a bit more complicated, because it is part of a full home-theater system.

  • When you turn on the power using the Roku remote control, the home theater system will turn on, the surround sound speakers will activate, and the main screen will display. The screen will show you the Roku Guest Mode screen.
  • All functions within the Roku screen operate the same on the Greatroom TV. Use the Roku remote control to operate it.
  • Surround sound operates continuously when the TV is turned on. Use the Roku remote control to change the volume. Do not change any settings on the Home Theater unit in the cabinet.

Non-subscription (free) channels are available on Roku as follows (If any of these channels are not installed on the Roku screen, from the Home screen, scroll down and select "Add Channels". Use the Search function to search for the channel by name, or scroll down to any recommended or highlighted applications.):
